Oregon, WI (Friday, September 3, 2010)-- Three out of the four champions crowned tonight at MIS were repeat winners, but the most anticipated points battle will have to wait three weeks until it’s completed as rain prevented the late models from taking the checkered flag and limited the other four divisions to just a single feature.“It’s frustrating for everyone,” said MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg. “We weren’t expecting rain to be an issue, but once it came it didn’t want to go away. Despite great efforts from the track drying crew we just couldn’t get racing to resume at a reasonable time.”The Rockweiler Insulation Late Models were able to complete qualifying and a 15 lap last chance race. But only 11 of the 30 laps of the feature were completed prior to the return of the rain. Tentative plans are to complete the race and run a second thirty lap feature on Friday, September 24th as part of the First Supply MIS Fall Classic.September 30th Race Report--The team had quite a few problems in practice getting rear grip and entering the corner, however a drastic change by replacing the rear shocks on the car right before the first lap of Qualifying was a good decision as JD picked up 9 tenths of a second in his qualifying run. JD started 14th out of 28 qualified cars, within 10 laps moved up to the 8th position when the rain started coming down and delayed the race until the 24th. JD stated "We had a horrific practice, by being a second of the pace, but my team made the right decisions and got the car back to where it was last week when we were second in practice, The race so far went good, we were allot more aggressive by staying close and got into a great groove to move to the front, I think our car would have faded a little in the long run from previous experience here, however we did figure out what to change to make it last and get better."
